By this week, they weigh about 2lbs. 4 oz. (like a Chinese Cabbage) and measures 14.8 inches from the top of their head to their heels. They can blink their eyes, which now sport lashes. With their eyesight developing, they may be able to see the light that filters in through your womb. They are also developing billions of neurons in their brains and adding more body fat in preparation for life in the outside world.
Things are still going pretty good, feet are still swelling, and lower back and hips are achy when I get up (sometimes feel like I am 90), but it all comes with the territory. I am not going to lie, I have my moments where I want to be done "being pregnant"..then I remind myself how long it took us to get here and how lucky I am to have these girls growing in me...then I feel them squirm and kick inside me and I know I will miss that so much!!! We both can't wait for them to be here and hold them, but I also LOVE having and feeling them inside me, its absolutely amazing! Luis tells me all the time he is jealous that I get to have them for 9 months! He told me to beware that he is going to hog them when they are born (since I have had them all to myself for so long)...yea we will see how that goes at 3:00 am when both are screaming!!! ;o)
Well I have my first shower tomorrow!!! I am so excited and I know its going to be so much fun!!!
Below are 2 pics of the nursery progress (this was about 2 weeks ago)...I absolutely LOVE the cribs!! So now that the furniture is up, the decorating can begin!! fun!!!
